Revenue Cycle Follow-Up Specialist – LBAPS Location: Brooklyn, NY Department: Revenue Cycle Schedule: Full-Time, On-site Salary: $27–$31 per hour Contact: laura.dechen@lbaps.com About the Role LBAPS is seeking a highly detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Follow-Up Specialist to support timely and accurate reimbursement across our growing healthcare operations. This role is essential to maintaining healthy cash flow by managing outstanding insurance and patient accounts, resolving unpaid or denied claims, and ensuring full compliance with payer requirements. Key Responsibilities Follow up on outstanding insurance and patient balances to reduce accounts receivable (A/R) Investigate and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments through appeals, corrections, and payer follow-up Communicate directly with insurance carriers regarding claim status, documentation requirements, and reimbursement issues Review EOBs and remittance advice to identify discrepancies and underpayments Accurately document all account activity in billing systems Collaborate with billing, coding, authorization, and internal teams to resolve claim issues efficiently Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, payer guidelines, and organizational policies Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or healthcare-related coursework preferred 1–3 years of experience in medical billing, accounts receivable follow-up, or revenue cycle management Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans Strong problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail Proficiency with billing systems, EHR/EMR platforms, and payer portals Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
